LIVING TOGETHER

Our Dear friends and partners from Lithuania are visiting our school. Yesterday, we spent quite a nice afternoon and evening downtown in Seville. It was great. Spanish families, students and teachers had the chance to share some time together with Lithuanian students and teachers while visiting our beautiful Cathedral. We also enjoyed together the amazing views from the Bell Tower "La Giralda".

Thank you dear friends from Lithuania for such a terrific time!!!!

 STORY TELLING ACTIVITY

Today, we enjoyed our traditional school storytelling activity. This time, sixth graders, the oldest students, got their preparations to read out in front of schoolmates belonging to the different grades. Here you can see two sixth grade students, Pablo Mije and Irene Delgado, reading in English the popular tale "Hansel ans Gretel".

This is a nice activity we carry out in our school once a term. It really makes us enjoy listening to stories and reading for others!!!!

A group of students and teachers from Lithuania are spending with us some days. We are part of an Erasmus + Project and we are really happy to make use of our English to communicate with them.

Today, second graders planted, with the help of the Lithuanian students, a lemon tree in our school garden to remember the importance of plants to our environment.

The students at CEIP 19 de abril are extremely talented! Some of the students belong to a choir and theatre group. I went with students from 4th -6th grade to a theatre in Dos Hermanas where 4 schools performed acts that they had been practicing. All of the acts were very different from each other and creative. The acts included singing with instruments, dancing, and acting all with music. It was so amazing to see students so young perform so well and even some of the songs were in English! I really enjoyed this exciting activity and am very proud of the talented and bright students.

 Real Alcázar

I had a wonderful day exploring the Real Alcázar with the 6th graders! We arrived first to see the gardens and learn about the history behind the Alcázar, it’s meaning, it’s purpose, and it’s beauty. We had a guide take us around the different rooms and sections inside the Alcázar teaching us all about them. We learned a lot of the important historical events that took place as well as the architecture and artistic designs. Finally, we had time to see more parts of the gardens and talk about what we learned and thought about the monument. I loved spending time with students as I teach them vocabulary in English from the tour as well as learn new Spanish vocabulary and culture!
