Our dear language assistant Adriana Colón is sharing with us in this post her experience when joining students in this field trip!!!
Today I went on a field trip with our 3rd graders to see the carriages prepared for “La Romería de Valme”. They were big and filled with plenty of different colors, shapes, and designs. This offered me the perfect opportunity to interact and create a deeper connection with the students, because I could ask them a variety of questions concerning these types of topics. For example: which one was their favorite, what color did they like the most, if they liked the flowers on them, and so on. Also, during the tour we got a demonstration on how the flowers were made, and when we got back to the classroom the students made their own. The entire experience was truly meaningful to me, not only did I had the chance to learn about the history and traditions of Dos Hermanas, but I had the chance to communicate and have enjoyable conversations with different students.
